Michael K. Mohrman

Michael K. Mohrman

Mike is a founding shareholder of Mohrman & Schofield PC where he focuses his practice on family law and civil litigation. He is admitted to practice before all Utah state and federal courts and the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.  Mike graduated from the University of Tennessee with a B.S. in Education in 1975. Following his graduation, he taught  high school English and enjoyed serving as head women’s basketball coach, assistant football coach, and head cross country coach. Later, he graduated from the University of Tennessee Law School (J.D., 1983), where he was a member of the Tennessee Law Review, 1981-1982; Managing Editor, 1982-1983; and Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Tennessee Judicial Newsletter, 1982-1983.

Prior to forming Mohrman & Schofield PC, Mike was a partner and practiced law at Richards Brandt Miller & Nelson in Salt Lake City for 23 years, where he obtained extensive jury and non-jury trial experience. He has tried cases and argued before state and federal tribunals in Utah, California, Wyoming, Nevada, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, New York, Louisiana, and Florida.

Mike is a popular lecturer to various professional groups on family law and litigation issues. He is a member of the Salt Lake County Bar Association, the Utah Bar Association (Family Law and Litigation sections), the American Bar Association (Family Law and Litigation sections), and the American Association of Justice (Family Law section).  He is rated as an AV® Preeminent™ attorney by Lexis Nexis Martindale Hubbel.®

Tracy C. Schofield

Tracy C. Schofield

Tracy is a founding shareholder of Mohrman & Schofield PC. She graduated from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University in 2007, magna cum laude, where she was an associate editor for the BYU Law Review and won the John S. Welch Award for Outstanding Legal Writing on family law issues. Tracy distinguished herself in law school. She spent one summer as a judicial intern for Utah Supreme Court Chief Justice Christine Durham; received the Alumni Women’s Law Forum Award and an ABA Award in State and Local Government in 2007; and worked as a research assistant in the subject of family law, as well as a teaching assistant for legal writing and advocacy.

Prior to entering law school later in life, Tracy received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Brigham Young University in 1991.  She then worked as a statistician for the University of Texas Health Science Center, and was a contract manager for the Environmental Management group at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. She also worked as a medical transcriptionist in Tennessee for a number of years while her children were young.

Tracy was named as a Super Lawyers Rising Star that recognizes top up-and-coming attorneys who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. She is actively involved in pro bono and public service programs in the areas of family law and estate planning. Tracy is admitted to practice before all Utah state and federal courts. She is a member of the Law Practice Management and Family Law sections of the American Bar Association, and the Estate Planning, Litigation, and Family Law sections of the Utah State Bar. Her practice areas include family law, appeals/appellate practice, and estate planning.

Jamie Pleune

Jamie Pleune

Prior to joining the law firm of Mohrman and Schofield in 2011, Jamie Pleune served as a judicial law clerk for the honorable Justice Jill N. Parrish on the Utah Supreme Court.  She also worked as a staff attorney at the Institute for Public Representation, a law clinic at Georgetown University Law Center in Washington D.C., where she practiced public interest environmental law and completed a two-year teaching fellowship.  Currently, in addition to specializing in appellate law and public interest environmental law and working with the family law team at Mohrman and Schofield, she is also a clinical assistant professor at the S.J. Quinney College of Law, University of Utah, where she teaches environmental practice and supervises students participating in the environmental law clinic.Jamie is also admitted to practice in the DC Bar.

Jamie graduated from the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah in 2007, Order of the Coif.  During law school, she was a Note and Comment Editor for the Utah Law Review, a recipient of the Stephen Traynor Legal Writing Award, and a recipient of the Khazeni Memorial Fellowship and the Robert W. Swenson Fellowship.  She also published articles on the Clean Air Act and standing.

Before entering law school, Jamie graduated from Colorado College in 2000, magna cum laude.  Following which, she collected a wide range of experiences that included serving as an AmeriCorps volunteer in Montana, working with adjudicated youth as a backcountry guide in an innovative restorative justice project in Montana, and coordinating a ballot drive for The Nature Conservancy.

Kari Dickinson

Kari Dickinson

Kari is an associate attorney at Mohrman and Schofield PC, practicing in the area of family law. Prior to joining Mohrman & Schofield, Kari worked as a solo practitioner and was a member of another Salt Lake City law firm.

Kari graduated from the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah in 2009 where she participated in moot court and served as a Note and Comment Editor for the Journal of Law and Family Studies.  During her second and third years of law school, Kari worked as a law clerk at the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office for the special victims’ team.  She gained additional experience during her third year of law school as a clinical intern at the Salt Lake City Prosecutor’s Office prosecuting misdemeanor cases under the third year practice rule.

Prior to beginning law school, Kari received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Brigham Young University in 2002.  Following graduation from BYU, Kari accepted a position at eBay, specifically in the Motors division.

Kari has also participated in volunteer work at Utah Legal Services and the Family Law Clinic.

Kari is admitted to practice before all Utah state and federal courts and is a member of the Family Law section of the Utah State Bar.  Kari practices exclusively in the area of family law, including, divorce, child custody disputes, child support and alimony, property division and other related issues.
